The production of the farm

Raising turkeys

The turkeys come to the farm immediately after hatching out. They are fed with fodder of good quality and with grain grown on the farm. The turkeys are raised until they are 16-19 weeks old. The slaughter takes place in cooperation with a farmslaughterhouse in Perniö. The turkey products are made in Perniön Saunapalvi or in Perniön Liha.

The delicious turkey products are highly recommendable both for everyday and festive serving at home as well as for business gifts for firms or on the menus of restaurants and catering services.

Growing gardenproducts

Small amounts of garden peas ( several different species both for market and homesale ) and corn are grown on the farm. Only high quality, fresh and clean products with best possible taste are offered for sale.

Growing corn in northern conditions is riskbearing and requires great effort. The seeds are sown in spring straight in the soil when it´s warm enough and protected by a gauze. The harvest of corn can be enjoyed in late autumn but frozen corn can be used in other seasons, too. Corn is at its best grilled or boiled in salt water and served for example with melted butter or unriped cheese.

Seedgrowing

Traditional agriculture is also practised on the farm. Seeds of wheat, barley, oats and oilplants are produced alternating yearly depending on the rotation of crops.
